About us
The Technology of Natural Sustainable Ecosystems Research Group (TONSERG) was established at the Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands of Iran (RIFR) in 1994. Later on it continued its work under the authorization of the Ministry of science of Iran.
Who are we?
TONSERG is made up of 19 Researchers (9 women and 10 men) to explore and prove their outlook regarding appropriate management of natural and urban ecosystem management and preservation of plant genetic reserves. Some of them have been working in the field of natural resources for over 18 years. In the last few years, some other researchers have joined us and cooperated with us in different ways.
Our other aim is to recognize and introduce important genetic reserves of Iran in the field of natural resources.
What have we done so far?
We have conducted a project on the recognition and evaluation of reasons for aging in long - lived trees of Iran. Our two other important projects have been done on the urban reserve management and provision of pollution map of Tehran in connection with heavy metals such as Pb and Cd .The fourth one (project number 5000427) was on the effects of the pollution of Persian Gulf War on natural ecosystems which was granted by UNCC as an international project .
Also TONSERG has published some national and international articles and 3 books printed in English and Persian on the natural resources of Iran as well as attendance in conferences and workshops held in and outside of the country.
TONSERG has 6 new ongoing projects to do at the moment.
